eBay fee FAQ

How much does eBay take per sale in 2026?

13.6% final value fee (most categories) + $0.30 per order ($10 or less) or $0.40 (over $10). Payment processing: included in the final value fee. Fee basis: total the buyer pays: item + shipping + sales tax.

Can I avoid eBay fees by selling locally?

Local pickup exists, but fees still apply. For a guaranteed $0 in fees, post the item free on Brixaz — buyers pick up locally, there is no commission or payment processing, and you keep 100% of the price.

Does eBay charge its fee on shipping and sales tax?

Yes. The 13.6% final value fee is calculated on the full amount the buyer pays — item price, shipping, handling, and sales tax — plus the $0.30–$0.40 per-order fee. Offering “free shipping” does not avoid the fee; it just moves the cost into your item price.

How many free listings do I get on eBay?

Most sellers get 250 zero-insertion-fee listings per month without a store subscription; insertion fees apply beyond that. Watch category exceptions too — some categories charge more or less than the standard 13.6% final value fee.
